Dr. Carroll graduated in 1994 from the University of California with a BS in Biological Science and a second BS in Psychology. He went on to receive his MD from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans and a Master of Public Health from Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 1998. He completed his internship at the University of Colorado and completed his surgical residency training in 2003 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Carroll received his board certification from the American Board of Surgery in 2004 and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also serves as an Instructor in Tactical Medicine and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Disaster Life Support. At Tulane University, he was honored with the Edward McCool Award of Surgical Excellence. Dr. Carroll is currently a fellow in the UTHSCSA Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program, as well as a Clinical Instructor.
