Dr. Johnson participated in research at the Cleveland Clinic in Florida under Dr. Noam Shussman. His project involved correlation of the rates of nasogastric tube insertion amongst various surgical groups within the colorectal service.

After completion of his general surgery residency, he hopes to pursue a fellowship in Surgical Oncology. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son. Other interests include vintage audio equipment.
