General Surgery Resident
Samy graduated in 2016 from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he received both his MD and MPH degrees. In 2015 he is spent nine months in Burkina Faso between his third and fourth year of medical school as a Fulbright scholar developing and implementing a Community Health Club program for the rural villages. He has been involved in global health and leadership for over 9 years, representing the United States multiple times to the International Federation of Medical Student Associations and serving as the Global Action Coordinator for the American Medical Student Association. He is the co-founder and president of the non-profit Pull for Progress, which aids in community development through support in the areas of health, education, and infrastructure. He enjoys running, playing basketball, reading, and exploring new cultures.
