Participated in a new internet program that examined the use of the
internet for Systemic Lupus Erythematous patients. I also helped in a
clinical trial on the use of biphosphonates in osteoporosis.

Worked as a laboratory assistant in a Molecular Biology lab where I prepared tissues, conducted tests, entered data, etc to investigate the potential role of proteinases, inhibitors, and potential regulators of their expression, mRNA RT-PCR, in RNA isolated from rat ligaments.

Conducted a two-page phone survey of pharmacists in the province of Alberta regarding the information management system they used. I also abstracted data following a standardized manual, entered data in MADLOG database and conducted data quality control and quality assurance for data entered from a number of sources.

Biosketch: Dr. Martinez graduated head of her class, and earned the Diploma of Excellence for 5 consecutive years while in medical school. She has also done research at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, from 1997-1999. She is an active member of her church, and preached and fed prisoners in her home country of Nicaragua.
