Efficacy of Alternating-Pressure Air-Mattresses in the Prevention of Pressure Sores: A randomized controlled trial.
Role: Co-Investigator. A preliminary study of pressure mapping in volunteers is completed and is pending for the final protocol.
Local Effect of FK506 on Peripheral Nerve Regeneration - This is an experimental study in rats. I was involved in all the presurgical and surgical aspects of the research. The study is in the final stage of completion. Role: Co-Investigator.
Informed Consent for a Prophylactic Mastectomy - Review of the literature completed and it is in the final stage to be sent for publication. Role: Co-Investigator.

Professional organizations:
Biosketch: Dr. Jaramillo's interests include general plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as oncologic reconstruction, endoscopic assisted surgery and breast surgery. Dr. Jaramillo completed his General Surgery Residency with the Department of Surgery here at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and was accepted into the two year Plastic Surgery Residency Program with the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Upon successfully completing Plastic Surgery Residency Program, he was recruited back to UTHSCSA to join as a new faculty member with the Division of Plastic Surgery in 2009. Dr. Jaramillo's dedication to both patient care and overall education to the residency program has reinforced the overall mission for the Division of Plastic Surgery at UTHSCSA.
