Research interests: alcohol-related injury and community-based injury prevention research, particularly among Hispanic underserved populations. Additionally, I am interested in policy analysis related to injury prevention (such as DWI statutes, alcohol screening programs, underage drinking, etc.). From a theoretical perspective, I am investigating the application of social learning and the transtheoretical model of behavior change to injury prevention strategies.
Clinical interests: Effectiveness of alcohol screening and brief intervention in emergency or trauma settings
