Biosketch: Wayne H. Schwesinger, MD is a native of Tacoma, Washington and a graduate of the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. After a tour of duty in the United States Air Force he completed his training in general surgery and gastroenterology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He is currently a Professor of Surgery and the Director of Surgical Endoscopy. He is a member of 17 professional organizations. His clinical and research interests include biliary and diverticular disease and the surgical management of obesity.
