Resident Office and Library — General Surgery resident office and library are located on the eighth floor of University Hospital.

Residents are provided access to the SCORE Portal, an online resource that contains many full texts such as ACS Surgery and Greenfield's Surgery: Scientific Principles and Practice, as well as a question bank used to prepare for the American Board of Surgery In-Training Exam (ABSITE). The UTHSCSA Library provides Access Surgery, which has full access to Scwartz's Principles of Surgery, Feliciano's Trauma, Doherty's Current Diagnosis and Treatment: Surgery, Maingot's Abdominal Operations, Pitombo's Obesity Surgery: Principles and Practice, Hall's Principles of Critical Care, Zollinger's Atlas of Surgical Operations, and a host of other texts and procedure videos.

 

Photo Residents also have full access to journals through PubMed and Ovid. The department has also built an online Learning Management System that contains many courses to teach procedures, declarative knowledge content, and an ABSITE study question bank. Residents also have office space and a library located on the eighth floor of University Hospital.
