The Employee of the Month award was created to recognize employees for the times that they contribute that 'extra something' on their job. The winners of this award will receive a framed certificate and a $300 Simon Gift Card. Employees must have been employed in the department of surgery for 1 year to be eligible for nomination.
Take 10 minutes out of your day and send in a nomination form to modrzynski@uthscsa.edu. Please be as detailed as you can in the nomination form about the individual you are nominating. This is a great opportunity for your co-workers to be recognized for their outstanding service. All Employee of the Month winners are eligible to become the Employee of the Year!
Surgery's Employee of the Month program is sponsored and funded by the J. Bradley Aust Surgical Society.
Vicky Gonzalez, Administrative Assistant - Senior, Emergency Medicine
"I would like to nominate Vicky Gonzalez for employee of the month. Vicky is always very willing to offer her help when asked. She gets along with her doctors and co-workers extremely well, and they do not hesitate to assign her any task knowing that she will be able to handle it. She completes her activities in a timely and professional manner. She even does some of her work after hours and from home to make sure they are completed and done properly. I enjoy working with her when I need to because of her attitude and her ability and knowledge of her job. I know if something is needed Vicky will get it done, and if she doesn't have the answer she always knows someone who does. It is for the reasons stated above that I believe Vicky Gonzalez should be employee of the month."
Vicky has been presented with an 'Employee of the Month' framed certificate, and a $300 Gift Card. On behalf of the J. Bradley Aust Society, the Department of Surgery Executive Committee, administration, faculty, staff, and the EOM Selection Committee, we congratulate Vicky for her outstanding support and service to the department.
Ana Trejo, Medical Assistant, General & Laparoendoscopic Surgery
"Ana Trejo, who works for General Surgery, is an extremely bright hard-working lead medical assistant. She took on the role as the head Medical Assistant in the clinic of General Surgery and has done an outstanding job.
"Ana is a self-starter and independent thinker who successfully coordinates eight faculty and two nurse practitioner clinic schedules at the MARC and at the Diagnostic Pavilion. She is extremely cordial in person and on the phone with faculty, admin staff and patients (both English and Spanish speaking). She gets the job done and is willing to help in all aspects of the clinic.
"She makes faculty, medical students and residents feel welcome, important and confident that their request will be taken care of from clinic to clinic. I know that when I need something – from scheduling an appt for a patient or requesting medical information – she gets it done. I can always count on her. All General Surgery faculty and nurse practitioners have often commented to me how easy and helpful she is to work with. She truly deserves to be recognized as one of our clinical devoted employees."
Ana has been presented with an 'Employee of the Month' framed certificate, and a $300 Gift Card. On behalf of the J. Bradley Aust Society, the Department of Surgery Executive Committee, administration, faculty, staff, and the EOM Selection Committee, we congratulate Ana for her outstanding support and service to the department.
