Take 10 minutes out of your day and send in a nomination form to modrzynski@uthscsa.edu. Please be as detailed as you can in the nomination form about the individual you are nominating. This is a great opportunity for your co-workers to be recognized for their outstanding service. All Employee of the Month winners are eligible to become the Employee of the Year!
We are now accepting the nominations for July 2008.
Tammy Fowler, Academic Coordinator, Surgery Education
Tammy maintains an extremely professional attitude/appearance with the
faculty, residents and medical students with whom she works. She
relates with the medical students in a manner which is very
understanding and compassionate. The surgery clerkship and the surgery
rotations for 4th year medical students can be very stressful for
students, and Tammy really puts them at ease.
She is a team player and interacts effectively with individuals at all academic and professional levels. She is very organized, and provides creative, innovative solutions to complex problems. Tammy's excellent computer skills have really simplified how we collect and store student data.
Tammy is an extremely dedicated, motivated, industrious worker – she identifies a problem, finds a solution and resolves the issue, and is continually working to improve her academic skills through informal and formal classes, conferences and by networking with appropriate personnel.
Tammy will be presented with an employee of the month framed certificate, and a $100 Simon Gift Card.
On behalf of Dr. Cohn, the Department of Surgery Executive Committee, faculty, staff, and the EOM Selection Committee, we congratulate Tammy for her outstanding support and service to the department.
Dona Modrzynski, Administrative Assistant, Surgical Informatics & Networking (SING)
As Administrative Assistant for the Surgery Informatics and Networking
Group (SING), Dona has consistently fulfilled more than her share of the
workload. In addition to supporting SING, Dona has also stepped in as
administrator for the Johnson Center for Surgical Innovation. Both tasks
are time-consuming; successful performance of all duties involved has
depended heavily on Dona's extensive knowledge and years of experience
within the department of surgery. In spite of her extremely heavy
workload, Dona remains cheerful and friendly.
Dona takes the initiative to complete needed administrative support
tasks for SING and the Johnson Center without supervision - she knows
what needs to be done, and she does it. In an institutional environment
where some of the most commonly heard words are "I don't do that -
that's not my job," it's a genuine pleasure to work with Dona. She knows
so much, and consistently performs above the highest standard and
maintains a friendly attitude. Anyone who's had the pleasure to work
with Dona knows how fortunate we are to have her in our department, and
how much this department has come to rely on her experience, knowledge
and skills.
