Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery

Education: MD, Baylor College of Medicine, 1987

Dr. Cofer obtained his medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine in 1987, and completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1994. He next completed a fellowship in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh under the direction of Dr. Marc Rowe. From 1996 to 2000, Dr. Cofer served as a staff pediatric surgeon and then chief of pediatric surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center, and then joined San Antonio Pediatric Surgery Associates in 2001. Dr. Cofer currently serves as the chief of the Division of Pediatric Surgery and oversees the resident and medical student education activities within the division. His clinical interests include pediatric surgical oncology, thoracic insufficiency syndrome and chest wall anomalies, neonatal congenital anomalies and their reconstruction, and pediatric minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Doski obtained his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine and completed general surgery residency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Doski then began a four-year active duty tour as a general and pediatric surgeon at Wilford Hall Medical Center. Following completion of his time with the US Air Force, he undertook two years of formal training in pediatric general and thoracic surgery at the Children's Medical Center of Dallas under the direction of Dr. Phillip Guzzetta. Dr. Doski is board-certified in general and pediatric surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and holds membership in the American Pediatric Surgical Association and Children's Oncology Group. His clinical interests include pediatric surgical oncology and resident and medical student education. Dr. Doski currently serves as the Chief of Surgery, Santa Rosa Children's Hospital.

Dr. Kidd received his MD from the Baylor College of Medicine and completed his general surgery training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He then completed his pediatric general and thoracic surgery fellowship at the Arkansas Children's Hospital in 2003 under the direction of Dr. Sam Smith. Dr. Kidd joined San Antonio Pediatric Surgery Associates in 2003. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association. His clinical interests include pediatric minimally invasive surgery and surgical correction of congenital abdominal and thoracic disorders.

Dr. Robertson received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in 1981. He completed his residency in general surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. This included a year at the Institute of Surgical Research burn center. He completed his Critical Care Fellowship at Brooke Army Medical Center in 1992. He next completed his Fellowship training in Pediatric Surgery at the New England Medical Center Boston Floating Hospital in 1995. He is the founding member of San Antonio Pediatric Surgery Associates. Dr. Robertson is board-certified in general and pediatric surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Pediatric Surgical Association. He currently serves as the Chief of Staff and as the Chief of Surgery at the Methodist Children's Hospital.

Mrs. Mariscal received her MSN in Pediatric Nursing and PNP certificate from the University of Virginia in 1982. She received her national PNP certification from ANCC in 1988. She has over 23 years experience as a advanced nurse practitioner of ambulatory pediatrics in a variety of settings, with specialization in pediatric gastroenterology and pediatric surgery for the past 6 years. She is active in several professional pediatric nurse practitioner and specialty nursing organizations on a national as well as local level.
