Dr. Howard T. Wang, Division Chief, Resident Program Director, and Associate Professor for the Division of Plastic Surgery. His interest is in microvascular reconstruction of the lower extremity, head and neck and breast of which he has extensive training. Dr. Wang comes to us from Duke University Medical Center where he has completed a Residency in Plastic Surgery . While at Duke, Dr. Wang spent 6 months as a Fellow in Hand Surgery at Kleinert, Kutz, and Associates in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to this, he completed a General Surgery Residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He is board certified in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. His education began at Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with numerous honors that included Phi Beta Kappa, Mortar Board Honor Society, Golden Key and Robert C. Byrd Scholarship as well as being on the Dean's List for six semesters. Following graduation, he attended Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine in 1995.

Dr. Jaramillo's interests include general plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as oncologic reconstruction, endoscopic assisted surgery and breast surgery. Dr. Jaramillo completed his General Surgery Residency with the Department of Surgery here at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and was accepted into the two year Plastic Surgery Residency Program with the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Upon successfully completing Plastic Surgery Residency Program, he was recruited back to UTHSCSA to join as a new faculty member with the Division of Plastic Surgery in 2009. Dr. Jaramillo's dedication to both patient care and overall education to the residency program has reinforced the overall mission for the Division of Plastic Surgery at UTHSCSA.

Dr. Shah's interests include facial plastic and reconstructive surgery as well as facial cosmetic surgery. Beginning in 2009, Dr. Shah has had an academic appointment in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at UTHSCSA. He joined the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UTHSCSA in 2011.

Dr. Peter Wang is a board certified plastic surgeon, having earned his medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in the city of New York, and his dental degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He completed his training in plastic surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and completed his craniofacial and pediatric plastic surgery fellowship at Children′s Hospital of Los Angeles. Although adept at performing a wide range of plastic surgery, Dr. Wang′s primary mission is to provide specialized care for children born with cleft lip and cleft palate, craniosysnostosis, craniomaxillofacial anomalies, hemangiomas, vascular malformations, birthmarks, congenital nevus, jaw deformity, ear deformity and microtia.

Deowall Chattar-Core is a Clinical Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in Plastics and Orthopaedics, and is a member of the UTHSCSA School of Medicine faculty since 2007. After graduating from the Plastic Surgery Residency Program at UTHSCSA in 2006, he completed a fellowship in hand and microsurgery through UTHSCSA at The Hand Center of San Antonio. Dr. Chattar-Cora earned his MD from New York University School of Medicine in 1996 and his BS from Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, New York in 1992.

Dr. Cromack is a Clinical Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in Plastics and Orthopaedics, and has been a member of the UTHSCSA School of Medicine faculty since 2000. He is board certified in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery with added qualification of surgery of the hand, and has extensive research experience in wound healing including a 3-year fellowship at the National Cancer Institute. He has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery. He completed a fellowship in Hand Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Cromack earned his MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, VT, in 1983, and his BS from the US Military Academy in West Point, NY.
